Well thank you getting back to me. I hope we can resolve this. Its a synchronising issue between audio and midi. I've downloaded the latest update after updating system to Catalina and Garageband to the latest upgrade. I've tried looking for conflicts but it must be that the 24bit is conflicting with the 64bit. Your advise will be greatly appreciated.

Phil_m, I appreciate the info. You are correct and I am humbled. Needless to say, I was frustrated and since I wrote that, I was able to get Workshop HD up and running. My Variax is now able to connect and I can make the adjustments I need. Thank you so much for helping me. I had to download the newest version. My apologies to everyone for venting my frustration.

Some people on this thread are saying you don't need Line 6 Monkey to download all the necessary files, however, even without Monkey (which itself seems STILL to be without a Catalina compatible update), I get a message saying the software does not "see" a connected Pod HD Pro.

We understand that this decision negatively impacts some customers. However, there are workarounds that align with Monkey's two main features: application/driver retrieval and installation, and firmware installation. All software and drivers that Line 6 Monkey "fetched" can be manually downloaded from www.Line6.com/software at no cost. For firmware installations, Monkey would have to be used on a computer running an older supported OS, or on a computer running multiple OS installations that include an older supported OS. This article supplies details on running discontinued software:

Line 6 Monkey is an intelligent updater for your Line 6 hardware or software product and is available as a free. Just plug in your Line 6 product via USB to a computer with a live Internet connection. Start up the Monkey and it will tell you exactly what Line 6 software is installed in your computer and what firmware is installed in your Line 6 hardware product. If updates or optional software accessories are available online, the Monkey will let you know and give you the ability to perform an update or purchase the accessory from within this app.

I need some help from the Line 6 Community. I have been trying to properly download the Driver for Line 6 Monkey on to the Newest OSX on my Mac. It goes through with the download, restarts, and when my computer reboots and I go back into Monkey, it acts like I never downloaded/installed it. It takes me right back through all the same steps. I even tried to download the driver separate. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Yea me too. Ive been through tech support from Apple and line 6. Line 6 says its Apple's fault and Apple says its line 6's fault and neither seems to care. Guess the Pod hd500x is finally run its course. Sux cause the Hd500x is still a really good unit. Just sux you can't use the Edit software. Guess you just have to fork over 1500 so your computer can talk to your processor LOL

Good page.Managed to get my pod xt up and running in garageband now thanks.Have it plugged directly into my mac(Latest macbookpro upgraded) but can still detect a slight latency. Is there anything else I can do to combat this problem and is there any latest technology/downloads that may help.

The only problem with digital emulation is that it can sometimes sound dull or brittle when compared to the real deal. Line 6 has taken this issue into consideration, developed their own high definition amp modeling technology, and packed it into their POD HD line of guitar multi-effects modules.

The POD HD has a USB connection to facilitate interfacing with any DAW software, including the free downloadable librarian. When the connection has been made with a DAW, the POD HD actually shows up as a selectable input when connected through USB. The librarian will automatically detect the device when powered on.

Updates for POD HD series of guitar multi-effects units are done through their own application: Line 6 Monkey. This application makes it easy by automatically notifying the user about updates on drivers, USB firmware, Flash Memory, POD HD Edit (software librarian), and Line 6 Monkey itself. All downloads can be done directly through this application as well.
